THE BRAND

Established in Australia in 1994, EMU Australia is now distributed in over 70 countries. Partnering with Amblique in 2014, EMU sought to develop a digital commerce offering that would showcase their “ever natural” philosophy to the world, employ best of breed technology and be accessible to their customers no matter where they were.

THE BRIEF

Not only was it paramount to provide a scalable and consistent customer experience, but to also tell the EMU story and have customers fall in love with the high quality of the product.

This project involved digital strategy development, the implementation of Commerce Cloud, streamlining of eCommerce operations and implementation of best practices to enable the business to succeed on a global scale. Amblique was engaged to develop an end-to-end solution that would take full advantage of the Commerce Cloud ecosystem to implement features such as dynamic merchandising, product videos, ratings & reviews and responsive design to suit any device.

The category and product description pages for Emu Australia are comprehensive and aim to answer any questions or reservations a customer may have before purchase. Category and product pages are not just about the product and price, but aim to educate and affirm the confidence of users to buy products. These pages utilise a combination of video, technical information and illustrations to communicate the brand story and philosophy.

EMU boots are known for their comfort, style and innovation. In recent years social media has played a big part in fashion as looks are shared on social channels. Social integration was key for EMU to create a more in-depth product recommendation and elevate social proof. EMU used foursixty to create a shoppable Instagram feed right on their site to leverage the brand’s social proof as a path to purchase.

When buying products online, customers like to know everything they can before committing to purchase. Product videos were introduced to show a product in context and highlight key features such as beautiful design, materials and construction.
